Free Comic Book Day 2005 at Planet Comics was a blast!  We combined forces with two other local comic book stores on our advertising efforts and dominated the radio waves and cable with FCBD ads.  We also vigorously pursued both print and TV news coverage and were featured on the front page of the lifestyles section on the Friday before FCBD.  We were shown on Friday night's and Saturday morning's TV news broadcast.  Both our traffic and our sales were double a normal Saturday and we beat FCBD 2004 on both fronts. 
 
In order to take advantage of all the new people coming into the store, this year we had all customers complete a survey so that we could capture their e-mail address for future newsletter mailings.  Plus we packaged coupons in all the FCBD giveaways.
 
Our store featured two guests.  Superior Showcase's J Chris Campbell was on hand to sign copies of Adhouse's FCBD edition and sell copies of the Project Superior Anthology and his own comic, Zig Zag.  Plus for the second year in a row, we had Dave Cockrum by for signings and sketches.
